  1. You need to start all over.  here is my blog on housebreaking

  2. Take a training class! I thought it was impossible to train my shih tzu, until I leaned the "right" way to do it.... And she frequently had excitable pee too. She should outgrow that.  There's not one "right" answer to write down- if you talk to a trainer, they can give you specific advice for what you need to be doing.

  3. If you're feeding her late at night, bring the feeding time earlier and make sure she does her business after that meal. Also don't give into her whining, because she'll learn to control you that way. You might get a restless night but its worth a controllable dog.The chewing issue, here's what you do. When she's chewing something, don't scold her. You left something for her to chew, she doesn't know that she's not supposed to. That's why you train a puppy.

When she chews on something you don't want her to, made a loud sound maybe a clap that distracts her and replace item with a chew toy. Praise her when she plays with the toy. Show how much you love it when she chews on the toy and only the toy.

  4. Read the CRATE info on google and Yahoo AGAIN and get thru the first few nights that she has a fit in it. You will both get over it, and be better for it!

  5. I understand what you are going through really well.  My dog  goes potty in house the first night I go back to work for the week.  We have started crating her at night when I am not home (I work at night) and she has been fine.  She does cry a bit sometimes at first (my husband is upstairs in bed) but she hushes after a while when she realizes that no one is coming to get her out.  It is really  hard not to go down there and get her out or talk to her to try to calm her down but you got to do it.  Also when you get up in morning  walk past crate a few times without acknowledging her. (obviously she will need to go potty asap)- get coffee and then let her out.   Crate her for a little while in day/early evening.  Walk past crate without saying anything to her or even looking at her.  She will learn that she is ok without you.  After you take her out leave crate door open.  Place a great treat in the crate without her seeing you do it.   Later on before you go to bed ignore her for a while and see if she takes the hint and goes into crate for treat.  It is all about making then feel like that crate is there bedroom/den.  If she like crate she won't cry so much.  Mine will even sleep in her crate without direction most days.  It is plush and her favor tie Teddy bear is always inside it.    Some dogs will do better if you have a radio / tv on softly near the crate.  As to inappropriate chewing, I always have a big basket of dog toys and chewies on the lving room floor.  My dog know these are hers and she can play with them ant any time.  I just used to take my stuff from her and say MINE real loud and point at myself.  I would then give her something of hers and poitn at her and say Bell's.  She caught on pretty fast thankfully.  Some people swear by the bitter apple spray though.
