I cant get my ipod to charge!!!! HELP!!!?

I got my ipod Last Christmas and i have had problems with it sometimes. i use to have a little problems with it charging but after messing with it a little it will charge. my pc will make that sound to let me know what something has been plugged in then my screen on my ipod pops up and then it will go off and keep restarting itself. what can i do and what is wrong with it and would i have to pay alot of money to get it fixed? and i use to use itunes (dont anymore because my PC messed up and i lost all my songs and i cant put anymore songs on my ipod without loosing the others.) and itunes use to say something about my ipod being corrupted/ what exactly does that mean? i also heard that if there is something wrong with it that they will just exchange it for another one? dont know how true that is. i hope someone can help me out.

if its saying that your ipod if corrupted, you should get a new one.

Call the Apple company, and tell them what's going on.

and they should send you a brand new one.

As long as it's less than 1 year old. because the warranty lasts for one year.
