Hello, Okay I really need some help please music is my life. Haha.

Alright, so here's the scoop.

I just installed windows XP a week ago, but when it installed it said it had a problem with some .dll file, it was like WUV or WMA or something like that. Anyway, whenever I open itunes or any other media player it says "___ Has encountered a problem and needs to close" Even when I try listening to songs on youtube, the video plays but the audio doenst!

I know that my speakers are plugged in and such, but does anyone have any idea what .dll could cause this because I understand that you can download .dll files online, it's just I forgot what the one is called.

Does anyone know how I can figure this out?

  1. Did you install your motherboard and sound card drivers? It sounds like you didn't.

Install the motherboard drivers from your motherboard cd.

Install your sound drivers from the cd that came with the card or download them from the manufacturer's website.

If your sound is on board, your motherboard cd will also have the sound drivers on it.

  2. It sounds like the sound driver for your OS didn't install.  Simply go to the internet and download the drivers for your sound card.
