I cant open the display !!?

Question

on the control panel of my computer. I will go to the settings on the start menu and ill try to open the display, but it just WONT open. I have had problems with this on paint too. Just basic stuff wont open up no more. Ive read that you can get that problem by shutting your computer down without doing it from the start menu...which i have done. But now that i know that, how do i fix it. I NEED help please because it really isnt my computer. Its my grandma and i dont need this on my chest lol.

HELP PLEASE !

anything that will help me fix it so i can open the display option.

oh and i have tried it from right clicking from the desktop...

you have done something to the files i would do a system restore back to an earlier date..yes not properly shutting your pc down can corupt files and render them useless ..if a system restore dont work try f8 safe mode then select last known good working condition..if that dont work you have deleted the filed and will have to probally start all over with your OS  disc and redo your pc..steve

Well, I have to say that&#039;s a new one on me.  It&#039;s not just slow but not even opening?

I assume you&#039;ve tried rebooting already?  This may be one for tech-support but make sure you burn all her files and such to CD first in case they have you erase/reinstall Windows, otherwise they&#039;ll all be gone.
