  1. Why cant you remove it? Does it say access denied or something stupid like that? If it does Download a program called Unlocker, just google it and it will come up. Helpful for when viruses cant be removed or programs become corrupt.

Anyway go to start program files find the folder that is assosiated with that program. Right click and press delete. go to start all programs and find the entry for the program in there, right click on the folder hit delete. Now go to start/run type in Regedit and delete the registry entries that are associated with that program. That will do it for ya.

Example if the program is a game like BF2, bf2 is made by EA the registry entries would have a something like EA or Electronic Arts... Shouldn't be hard for you to figure out. Good luck

  2. Sounds like something is corrupt.  The best and safest way to install/uninstall is via Control Panel.  Depending on what it is, esp. if it's 3rd party software, you may need a password to uninstall.

  3. It sounds like the Uninstaller routine has become corrupt. You have three choices here:

1: Manually remove all traces from the File System and within the Registry. If you do please make sure you set a manual restore point and back up the registry before editing it.

2: Go to the manufacturers website and see if they have a Cleanup Tool for mangled uninstalls. This is a hit or miss situation. Larger software vendors often have such tools, but smaller ones usually do not.

3: Use a third party Uninstaller. Some of these are cost based and there are some which are free. Here is a link to one free utility that has what I consider a very good Uninstaller that can even clean up a broken uninstalled application that has left pieces of files and registry key and values all over your system:

Revo Uninstaller has other features too, but the uninstaller is really good and handy to keep around. It is one of the great free applications available on the web.

Good luck and have a nice day.

edit: CCleaner is good for cleaning up junk files, and managing Cookies, but the uninstaller only uses the applications uninstall routine, it doesn't have one of its own. So, if an application will not be removed from the appropriate Windows software removal applet, then it will not be removed by CCleaner.

Also, manually removing an application can be extremely difficult. Many software vendors use file naming conventions which utilize names not of the software title. So, while you can remove anything which is named exactly as the title, there can be a ton of stuff you do not remove. If you wish to do a manual removal, get instructions from the software vendor.
