I recently bought a analog to digital converter box (the RCA they sell at walmart) and I went to antenna web. org to see what channels I can see and i'll look at the digital only channel list and I can see all the UHV channels clearly but channels like 7.1 (VHF) and stuff wont come up. Type in Zip Code "93235" and look what I mean. I can see all the channels except 5.1 and 7.1. My antenna is a TERK TV5 which supports VHF

  1. The position of your antenna will affect the reception also. You have to turn it to get the right signals.

On the antenna.web page with all your digital stations click the "view street level map" button. It will show you a map again but will give you indicators as to what direction from your location that the transmitters are in.

Looking at the antenna.web page more, I see alot of transmitters in that general direction. You may just have too much interference. Many of these are analog and will probably go away in 2009. Not much help now I know.

You might try to contact the stations via email. They can be very helpful.

  2. Thanks for all the information.  That looks like a pretty decent antenna.  A couple of thoughts, I see that 5.1 and 7.1 are both 48 miles away.  That's kind of a long haul for a set top antenna.  They are also the only VHF stations that are that distance from you.

For experimental purposes, you might want to try a different antenna, or move this one close to a window or something.  One difficult thing about digital signals is, they either work or they don't.  And when they don't it appears as if nothing is there.  It could be that the signal on these two stations is weak enough that the converter will not lock to them.
