  1. i suggest to tape your swing in batting practice and then go over that and see what you're doing wrong and then tape again until its natural good luck

  2. Hey, i play softball too ! Well I don't think you need to have a more powerful swing to improve you hitting. It could inter fear with you bat speed all you need it to make some solid contact. You should concentrate on just making contact other then a big swing. If you wants more strength lift weights take your bat in a pool and swing the bat in the water it will give an affect of you swinging in cement, go to the batting cages and practice hitting. Hope i helped

  3. It depends what type of hitter you are. If you're a slap/contact hitter, then you don't need to swing harder, nor do you want to slow your path to the ball.  If you're are a power hitter, then it usually comes from using your entire body, not just your arms to swing hard.  It starts with a load (hands and weight back) then transfer of weight....through your lower body torque/rotation and then your hands taking a strong path to the ball.

I guess it's hard to explain with text...but I would watch players (live or video) who have a similar approach (power/contact/etc.) and see what they do, and if you have the means, video tape yourself swinging and keep track of your progress with what you're working on.

  4. If you swing harder you'll miss ( If it's a slow pitch ). Swing Slow on a slow pitch and you'll be amazed how far you hit it.

If the pitch is fast  swing fast :)
