  1. Resolution will not fix graphics and if the game does not have the resolution you can not play in it.

  2. I suggest a few things:

    1.  Install the driver for your monitor if you have lost the disk go to the manufacturer's website.

    2.  Do the same for your graphics card, if you haven't done that already.

Otherwise you will need to get a new graphics card.

  3. Go into settings for Halo. Change the resolution. If you can't get 1440 x 900 resolution, I think Halo "decided" that your graphics card isn't powerful enough to smoothly play the game. Many games do this to improve playability. So I recommend you get a decent graphics card. Here's a good one: http://www.nextag.com/XFX-GeForce-8600-G...

    Hope this helps!

  4. Some games (such as the Battlefield series) don't have a widescreen mode so 1440x900 may not be an option because that's a 16:10 resolution.

  5. The game does not have cheap graphics, its your graphics card

I'm assuming your using integrated graphics "aka built into your computer" These generally CANNOT create great gaming graphics and also have terrible resolutions.

Buy a graphics card and your problem is solved.
