I got my dog last year and she wont leave my nans old dog alone!

It is like she teases her!

She will get a ball in her mouth and rub it in my nans dogs face! I shout no to her but she doesnt listen she just wags her tail.

She will bite her lip to wind her up and follow her round and get in her way!

I think if my nans dog was to bite her 1 time she would stop but she wouldnt hurt a fly!

So i have tryed shutting her in a different room of 30 secs when ever she does it but that doesnt work!

Has any one got any tips?

Please Help !!

  1. tranquilize the dog, if that doesnt work you can just shoot it. That should solve your problem for ever.

  2. She's obviously only trying to play, if you consider this, get a dog the same age who she can play with. My dog won't leave my cats alone, one tolerates it but the others terrifed of her so when he runs the dog runs too. Any time i see her going near them i give her a low toned voice saying someting like "leave them alone" or just say her name in a low sharp voice like you would with a child, she knows its wrong. It started that we gave her small and i mean SMALL slaps when she went for them. She still tries it behind our backs but when we're out in the garden she doesn't go near them.

And don't listen to that so called "s**y guy" apparently a lot of people aren't willing to put the effort in and expect the perfect pet!

  3. Change your thinking you do not have a 1 year old dog you have a 1 year old puppy.  Your puppy wants badly to play with your Nan's dog.  She is not trying to torment or be mean to the older dog. Putting her in a separate room is just punishing her for being young.

There are several things you can do.  First do not bring your puppy with you to visit your Nan.  I know she loves Nan and she loves Nan's dog but they are very far apart in age and it frustrates both of them.

If you must take your dog with you than make very sure you take her for a long walk with some running before you go.  Wear her out so she does not have as much energy when you get there.

Get you and your dog to some obedience classes.  They can teach you ways to make sure your dog will listen to you.

Last you might try making a loud noise every time she goes towards the older dog or you could get a squirt gun and shoot her every time she goes near the other dog.  Do not ever hit your dog it will do no good not even taps.

  4. jajaj lmao shes not a human she a dog animal wat do u expect but yeah u cant help a dog like that the dog is wat it is give it away or something and ur a bad owner how would u like it if i shout at u or the dog shouts at u dogs are like babys there stupid =] well not stupid but ignorent

  5. Get yourself a squirt gun and shoot her with it just after you say a loud "no".  This is the least invasive way of correcting her and it won't hurt her.  It will just be a correction that gets her attention.  When she responds, give her a treat.  You are showing her NOT to do it and praising her for listening.

  6. Dogs respond to voice command only if it is accompanied by a form of stimulus. This can be a loud noise, or if you are into it, a whack with a newspaper,(not something I would do!). It is normal for your dog to pester the other dog because it wants to play!, but the dog MUST respond to your voice commands. Take a coffee can and put some pennies or small rocks in it and replace the lid. Every time you use the command for NO!, rattle the can. The dog will not like it, but soon it will associate the noise with the command and respond with only the command!. Give it a try before you resort to beating it with a paper!.

  7. shut it in for about 3-5 Mins 30 secs isnt enough

  8. I suggest obedience training for your dog. Shouting at her won't help. In fact it will make things worse. Obedience classes will be good for you both and in tern for your nans dog too.

  9. shes probably bored, and if your nanas old dog is old then it probably wont want to play with it, try getting it some toys and if that dosnt work take it to a trainer!

  10. She is a puppy, she wants to interact with other dogs. What is wrong with wanting her to play? She needs to interact with other dogs. Find out about leash free parks in your area and take her there. Also some obedience training may help.

  11. my advice would be, simply dont take her round your nans, as pups love to play. she wont stop. its natural. the pup only wants to play and means no harm older dog who  is too lazy to bother, make sure you introduce her to other pup-friendly young dogs or she will get no canine interaction.
