  1. They can have a new litter every 4 weeks so you haven't got too long to wait./..... if she is pregnant, handling needs to be kept to a minimum.

  2. Hi! I think you might have a strong possiblity that she is pregnant, but only time can tell. I would't keep pokeing at her stomach or handeling her rough because you might harm the babies that way.

Just be ready and make sure she has a nice comfy bed all the time and her cage is clean. Give her a hard boiled egg to eat as that helps their protein and encorages healty babies!

Anyways good luck if you have them and tell us all wat you called them!

    =]

If you go to your vets they can do an ultra sound but it tramatic for the hamsters and i dont reccomend it.

She also should get wider around the stomach area like she is going to explode!

  3. don't worry. mine had her babies and i didn't even noticed lol

  4. it is most likely she is pregnant

  5. yeah. my friend had 2 girl hamsters and one boy...and we felt belle's stomach(pregnant one) and she had lumps. teddy's didnt...until she got pregnant, so savannah is probably going to have babies soon.

  6. I'm not sure. Maybe she is pregnant. No need to worry if she is. Don't panic. THe real thing to do (if you really want to know) Is go to the vet. She/he will tell you. Jus don't over feed your hamster and let her rest. If it's past a month already, and she still hasn't had any babies. Then she's obviously not pregnant. GO to the vet if she has so you can check if she has a contagious disease or something. Or cancer. Lol. NO offense. Anyways, hope this helps.

  7. It's hard to tell until right before she's going to give birth (by that point, it should be obvious, haha).

But if she was with a male then she probably is.

  8. Yes she is pregnant.....she's in with a male....rodents multiply very fast, best bet now is too just let her be and get the male out of the cage with her, since it's been known that the males will kill the babies and she can get pregnant again right after she's done giving birth, and you'll have a second litter on ur hands

  9. Considering that she was mating with a male hamster, in all probability, she might be pregnant. It is very difficult to tell if a hamster is pregnant. Some clues include when she may be building a bigger nest, hoarding a lot of food in the nest, will eat and drink water more than usual and sleep a lot more if she is pregnant. In the last 4 days before delivery, she will look big in the belly and teats would be prominent. The gestation period is 18-21 days. If you want to take her to a vet, you can do that for a confirmation. When my hammy was pregnant, she had big fights with my male dwarf who was in the same cage and I had to separate them so that she had the cage to herself.

Make sure you give her lots of clean food and water and supplement her protein intake by giving her hard boiled egg whites and little quantities of skimmed milk. Also supplement her regular food with pieces of fresh vegetables like carrots. Throw away any stale food after a day. Try to put the cage in an area where she has the least disturbance from noises and activities.

Clean out her nest 2 days before her delivery and put in lots of fresh bedding (only aspen shavings, no pine or cedar and no scented shavings please) and also lots of unbleached / untreated toilet paper for her to make her nest. Put lots of food in the cage. After that leave the cage undisturbed for 2 weeks (except to change the food and water) after the babies are born since any disturbance can irritate the mother and cause her to hurt her babies. Remember never to touch the babies for two weeks from the day they are born.
