  1. Your camera came with:

    Digital Camera Solution CD-ROM

    USB Interface Cable IFC-400PCU

    1.  You must install the Digital Camera Solution software first.

    2.  When that is done, power OFF your camera.

    3.  Connect the USB cable to the camera.

    4.  Connect the USB cable to the computer.

    5.  Power ON the camera.

    6.  The software wizard will open.

Follow the prompts to transfer/upload your pictures from your camera to your computer.

    Hope this helps!

  2. I agree with Pooky (much as it pains me to agree with someone called "Pooky").

That camera uses an SD card, which is incredibly standard. You can get a card reader that takes SD cards (and probably a bunch of other types of cards) at your local store for about ten bucks. It's more reliable and faster than plugging the camera into the computer. Plus, you can make your SD card do double duty and use it like a thumb drive if you're so inclined.

  3. The headache and the heartache will go away when you use a USB card reader. Get one that works with USB 2 and one of those "all in one" so it can use any card from any camera. All current operating systems support one.

Not only it's faster--you won't drain the camera's battery while you're downloading either. If the battery goes out during downloading, you may corrupt the files. Furthermore, rechargeable battery can be recharged for so many times until it has to be replaced--and that gets expensive.
