Look, i'll be frank, I come from a working class family, that is really struggling with the rising cost of living. Food/electricity/fuel, you name it my family struggling to pay for it all. So when i get it slapped on me environmental car tax, or for every mile I pollute I got to pay this tax, or enviro tax my boiler and i've now got to start paying for supermarket bags. And basically like a million other things, you know what fu*k the environment, i don't care, i want to live an easy going, happy life where i don't have to worry about the cost of everything. Give me a break already! I mean I have a part-time job (I’m 19) and last week, we got yelled at because of the stores low profit margins, so the workforce comes away feeling down, bitter, and the rising costs making it harder, it ends up in just having a miserable time. The management has to cut back on employing new staff, making us understaffed, resulting in us having to work like there’s tomorrow. And then your holidays come, and you realise its too expensive to go anywhere, and end up staying home, just becoming more miserable. You go to the shops to buy anything, but then the cost makes you think twice, and looking at your wallet/purse really becomes a bad feeling. I don’t want to be miserable my whole life, I don’t want to be constantly down, waking up just to worry how to pay the bills and go shopping at discount stores. So in all politeness, F*ck the environment!

What do think? Your views and thoughts please?

Thankyou.

  1. that's it, britain is dead. anyone without the resources or qualifications to leave this shithole is doomed to a life of misery. get used to it.

  2. I'm even more self obsessed. I say f*ck the environment and f*ck you as well

  3. Well in part I agree with you. Green has become a sort of status symbol"lifestyle". Being poor has never been fun. We are sold the consumer-fest and made to feel a failure if we don't chuck our whole life in a landfill site and restock with the latest designer "must-have". once a year. it is all a con.  I lead a fairly green lifestyle and I spend a lot less than most people but I suppose I feel good about it because I have a choice and that is the key really isn't it? I make do and mend because I want to and because I don't want to line the pockets of some poxy multi-national. I am not forced to because of my circumstances.

I have every respect for people who are struggling to make ends meet and want more for their families, I think that we live in a rich country so we should all have the right not to worry too much about paying the bills as long as we work (if we are able).  We are not brought up to know the difference between want and need though, Our local tip is full of stuff that is in perfect working order, our local charity shops are crammed with almost new stuff and the people buying it are middle-class people (like me I suppose) who could afford to buy new and so don't feel demeaned by buying second hand. I care very much about the environment; I don't want my kids to inherit a floating rubbish tip. I won't pay the ridiculous prices for organic food (and I know the farmers still get ripped off) so we decided to get an allotment and we really enjoy it, I know it is not an option open or even attractive to everyone, but it is one way of doing it. my heart goes out to you that at 19 you are this pissed off, you shouldn't have a care in the world. The fact that you have been put in this economic and personal position is BECAUSE "F*ck the environment" is our economic and political policy once you strip away the "greenwash". You deserve better; we all do. Best wishes

  4. d**n right !

It'd be nice to be eco friendly, but in the real world where I have a wife and five kids to support it's just not possible.

I've got to count the pennies and buy cheap. I simply can't afford to shell out the extra for enviro-friendly or fairtrade.

I've got to put my family first.

Sorry if that means the environment suffers, but that's life.

Does that make me a bad person ?

  5. I cant say that I blame you. I'm kind of the same way. I'm irritated that we're all supposed to 'go green' just because the media decided it was time to shove it down our throats. I'm also irritated that everyone on tv promoting a 'green lifestyle' are celebrities that make 10 trillion dollars an hour and can afford the insane price of eco friendly living. If they really cared about us going green and saving the environment, they wouldn't charge an arm and a leg to live that way. I think they care more about filling their pockets than anything else.

  6. You'll think differently when you are in prison for eco-crime.

  7. Like this american cook, I don't remember his name said in that one advertisement "living organic is all good but it is something for the rich" so I agree with you.

However "f*ck the enviroment" isn't exactly the way to think either, it benefits everybody to preserve the enviroment. You are only 19 years old, I am assuming you are getting a proper education. You don't have to be stressed out about these things as you will hopefully be better off in a few years time.

  8. I know how you feel. It's getting ridiculous.

But the one thing that bothers me the most is that they are expecting this to happen in a few years. All of a sudden we stop dead in our tracks and are trying to move in a different direction than where we are normally headed. Have we not learned that gradual, suffient steps work better than just jumping into it and expecting things to happen?

This took hundreds of years to get this way, now it's going to take a while as well to get back.

If "eco" people would just realize that I'd be more calm, but if you were serious about that tax on cars and every mile. Thats insane.
