I caught a spider! What do I feed him?

He looks like a brown recluse. But you can never be too sure. I want to keep him though. I already have him caged and I named him. Buuuut im not sure what to feed him. And dont worry I didnt catch him with my bare hands and I dont plan on ever touching him unless I find out hes not poisonus. =D

Oh and his name is Seamus.

My friend tried to keep a spider as a pet and it died in about a week =( i told her not to but she did.

well this will be quite an adventure for you! =D i had brown recluse as a pet one time, and i didn't even know it until my dad caught me playing with it XD the best thing to do is look up pictures of brown recluses or black widows or any spider that you know and find one that looks like yours. i fed mine flies, crickets, centipedes, millipedes, anything small that you think a spider would eat. it will make a web, and maybe it will lay eggs (i was lucky and when i found mine, it was pregnant and it was a day away from laying eggs, so i god to it lay the eggs and see them hatch).

It's best to let him out. He would be happier. But if you really want to keep him feed him flies and other insects.

Put it outside. If it is a brown recluse, it could kill you, even if you mean to never touch it, it could escape in an instant. Take it to your backyard and set it free.

I wouldn't keep him because if he is a brown recluse he is posinous.

I feed mine flies,the way you tell if they are fat or skinny is the size of their abdomen...you might have to get crickets in the winter...my spiders are alive and healthy,if you don't shake the jar or whatever they are ok,mine are like 9 months old....

You don't feed him anything. You let him go where you found him. Spiders do very poorly in captivity - if you keep him, don't expect him to live more than a week at the most.
