i forgot pass and user of my corecess modem and i need options now to change my connection type from PPPoE.. what can i do?

  1. Most modems/routers have a reset button on them. Probably the quickest and easiest way - the modem will reset to the factory defaults.

    if you dont want to lose your other settings in the modem, it may be possible to telnet to the router if the feature is available.

    You can check this quickly from command prompt by typing 'telnet ipaddress 21' - obviously replacing ipaddress with the modems ip address. The telnet password is quick often set seperately to the web password, so if its available the defaults may still work.


  2. You will have to call your ISP tech support.  Have them reset your password.  They will give you instructions on accessing the firmware of your modem.  Or in setting up a connection.

    Can't help beyond that.  Your ISP has access to the tools needed to reset your password.
