  1. .44 is quite big, youll get a bus through that gap...go.25,..just a nice solid nip will give it 16lbs....

  2. t.q. wrenches are not digital to my knowledge. Wait till the car cools down completely and put minimal force when it feels tight.   A t.q. wrench can be bought from most part stores for as little as $35.00.

Are the wires in the correct order?

  3. The RSX needs to use a specific type of spark plugs, using one from autozone does not work. It takes NGK Spark plugs.

Also, with gas wise, you may need to change your valve lashes, it can be in time to get them re-lash.

  4. change air filter, spark plug wires, and fuel filter

  5. >>  it also states to use a max torque of 16lbs. how would i do that w/o a digital torque wrench

16 foot pound = 16 pounds of pressure @ 1 foot wrench.  So approximately feel what 16 pound feels like on your hand and apply that much pressure on your wrench (as most wrench is about 12 inches long).

Or go for an old style beam type torque wrench from sears.  You can get them for less than $50.

As for your MPG, it could be your plug wires are bad, not connected properly, your distributor (rotor if you have it), coils.

    Good Luck...

  6. First off, don't ever trust the spark plug gap from the factory.  Even if they started with the correct gap at the factory, through shipping and stocking and handling sometimes the electrode at the end of the plug gets knocked around and moved, so check that as well as the following.  Change your air filter, your plug wires, a new fuel filter wouldn't hurt and also check your points in your distributor as well as the rotor.  And they do have digital torque wrenches so just put on an extension and your spark plug  socket and just torque it to the desired lbs./ft.
