I do not have a son to carry on my family's tradition. We have had soldiers, sailors or marines in every war since the French and Indian war. I had uncles and a grandfather in WWI, my dad and uncles in WWII, uncles and an aunt in Korea, I was in Nam, and nephews and cousins in Desert Storm and the present war. I am not capable to do battle any more so I will sit here and guard the home front, if they make it this far.

The Islamists support their terrorists.  If we are not fighting them  in Iraq or Afgahanistan it will be in NYC.  Show them a sign of weakness and they will kill you.  What did the the Iraq solders of Hussein do to their captives in the first gulf war?  They took them  to their families and cut off their heads, then they cut off their hands and feet,  then the cut off their arms and legs, while the families were forced to watch.  What do you think we have here?

I would cut my apron strings and let my child grow up.  It is now their decision not yours if they want to go into the armed forces.  Not like there is a draft or anything.

I am a military wife. Our soldiers know what they are signing up for when they join.  God Bless them all.  McCain is not sending anyone anywhere....they are ALREADY THERE!  They need support not negativity.

You choose to give birth (thank God), your child has a right to join the military since they are an adult. Both McCain and Obama want to send more troops in to Afghanistan so I am trying to figure out exactly how this is McCain's fault and not Obama's ? At any rate it would be your child's decision to join the WAR.

Technically McCain isn't advocating sending more people to Iraq.  He is for withdrawing troops, but he doesn't want to set an artificial deadline.  The Iraq war is coming to a close, Obama would like to take credit for it, but he can't.

Obama does want to send more troops to Afghanistan.  McCain does as well.  So neither candidate is technically anti-war.

First, he would have to enlist to go to war. Second, the war in Iraq is over and was a success. Third, Congress has to approve going to war.

You will have to think up something else to down McCain. Personally, I think all the Hopemeister followers should give up and just vote for the better candidate.

If I were you I would remain silent.

Senator McCain is not President McCain; he is not sending anyone anywhere.

This is the United States.  We don't have a draft in place at this time as we did when I was a young man.  Do you know what that means?  It means members of our military are volunteers.  They have not had a gun held to their heads ala Al-Qaida or WWII n***s'.

If your son chooses to volunteer it is not Senator McCain's fault, it is yours.  You failed in raising a pacifist.

Finally, if your son did volunteer what did he expect he would be doing?  Perhaps crocheting doilies???
