  1. Put some vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray the inside of the oven several times and wipe it out. This should get rid of the oven cleaner smell. It works for me!

  2. Myself, I would get the bucket of water with just some mild dish soap in it and give the oven another rinse.  Then turn the oven on again and see how it smells.  If it still stinks bad then you might have gotten some of the easy off onto the elements.  Wipe down the elements too.  Then if you still have a problem, read the can instructions again.  If it doesn't say anything about an odor the first time you cook then I would try to "burn off" the odor.  As long as there is a strong odor coming from the oven I would not cook in it.

  3. I have the same problem.  Have used the oven cleaner for years, about every six months.  I don't know if it would be safe to bake with those terrible fumes.  What I have been doing is, after cleaning the oven, I turn it on about 350 or 400 degrees and "bake out" the smell.  Helps to open the kitchen windows.  For about 20 minutes.  Gets rid of fumes for next time you bake.   Hope that helps a little.

  4. Washing the oven with clear water and vinegar is good, but usually this offensive odour is because of oven cleaner falling onto the heat element and /or its brackets, so wipe that off first, then the rest of the oven.
