I clicked on the button for changing the homepage colors and changed to pink.?

While I'm still logged in under my name it defaults to the traditional blue. What's up?

After picking the color scheme you want, be sure to click on the "save" button. If it's still defaulting to Yahoo Blue then it's a problem with the server and they'll probably fix it after the holiday.
