this sounds crazy but i feel scared now. it definitely was closed when i checked. it's not wind, because no windows are open. there's no one who could have walked into my room. is there a possible explanation for this, or should i be checking the house for burglars/ghosts?! i'm serious about this question, so please no silly answers, and don't say scary stuff or i'll be terrified.

  1.   First of all, surround yourself with the cleansing white light of the Holy

Spirit  (actually see it surround you) Take a deep breath and let it out.

      You will be okey

  2. It's not a ghost, it's explainable by science.

Even though there was no wind, a temperature difference can cause the air pressure on one side of the door to become greater than the pressure on the other side, causing it to open-- much like wind, but without gusts you can feel.

Are the parts of the house on either sides of the door a different temperature? For example, do you have an AC on in one room or the dryer running in the other? Is there direct sunlight shining into the room on one side of the door, and no direct sunlight in the other?

My bedroom door will open when someone opens the door downstairs. Again, pressure difference. Even if the rooms opposite the door were equal temperature and had no wind, if there is open air between the door and ANOTHER door in the house (like a room down the hall), then when you opened that other door, you could have caused a pressure difference that would cause the door to open.

Likewise, any room that is a different temperature or has an open window can make your door open, if there are no closed doors between them.

It's also possible that the wood in your door or surrounding wall has chosen this moment to "settle." Many houses "settle" over time, resulting in creaking sounds, opening doors, and mis-alignment of cabinets. This process never ends, and older houses "settle" more often than new ones.

Another possibility is that a cat, squirrel, or other small animal got into your house... could've been in there for hours. Leave a few different kinds of food out tonight and see if any of it gets eaten.

If you're worried about burglars, you can just shout, "I know you're in here, just leave and I won't call the police. I just want you to go away. Rob someone else's house and there won't be any trouble."

  3. your door isn't level

  4. You have Ghost.

  5. Know that nothing I say is definitive... I'm curious if you closed it fully and you'd have to use the door k**b to open it or just kinda closed it..

I have to ask, are you absolutely sure you closed it?  The only reason I'm asking is because I know myself, I forget stuff like that sometimes and I think I've done something but I haven't or I don't remember if I've done something and I have.. but that's me :)

if it'll give you a piece of mind, could you invite someone over, or turn on all the lights at home, or even go out for an hour or so?

Please don't be scared by what I'm about to say - if it is a spirit, I'm not sure how you can check for that but know that spirits don't hang around to hurt us. You CAN ask them to leave and then they do leave, and if you are scared you can also picture yourself surrounded by white light (imagine "heavenly" light) and ask your angels to keep you safe :)    If you want to tell them to leave - just be polite and wish them well but just plainly tell them to leave.  Then take a couple of deep breaths and reaffirm to yourself that you are safe :)
