  1. 1.  Calgary is bigger than Yellowknife, it is also the home to more corporate head offices behind only Toronto.

    2. Montreal nearly 3x bigger than Ottawa though Ottawa is the capital of the country.  Montreal is the second largest french speaking city i the world behind Paris.

    3.  Toronto is over 50x larger than Thunder Bay, its the capital of Ontario and the economic engine of the country.  It is also the largest city in Canada by a fair margin.

    4. Edmonton is much larger than Whitehorse.  Its the largest city in North America located north of 53ºN and the hub of Alberta's oil and gas industry.  Its population is just under 1 million.

    5.  Halifax is bigger than St. John and is the economic and cultural hub of the Atlantic provinces.

    6. Quebec City is larger than Sudbury and the capital of Quebec.  Its economy is stronger than Sudbury.

    7.  Hamilton is located in the GTA and is in the top 20 for largest cities in Canada.  Lynn is not.  Hamilton is a major steel port and has a strong economy in the manufacturing sector.

    9.  Calgary is the larger of the three ( marginally larger than Edmonton) and as above it is considered the capital of the Prairie provinces.  It can be argued that Edmonton being the capital of Alberta and the oil and gas hub could take that from Calgary.

    10. Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg then Whitehorse for population.  For most important in Canada it would be Ottawa because it is the nations capital as well as one of the largest cities in Canada.

  2. Well - I can't give you a description for all of them,

but I'll tell you what I know about a few of the cities on there.

Ottawa! - one of the most beautiful places ever, imo. Quite close to Qubec, which is really great & it's not that overpopulated [mind you I haven't been there since 2004 so perhaps a buncha crazy s*x addicts moved there and reproduced.. but I'm rambling]

Toronto! - Eeeek! You can go there & just be standing in the same spot for 10 mins & you'll see oh so much! It really is the most cultured city, ever.

Hamilton :D Where I live, yay! It's dirty downtown, obviously. But downtown is also beautiful at the same time, like Toronto, you'll see so much in such a little time. & On the mountain [Suburbia] is usually quiet, other than around the bars.

Idk if these things will help you, since I really didn't understand what you were asking, sorry.

  3. To see which city is more populous, see a list of Canadian cities by population at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the... .

But which city is better? It depends on what you like. You could look at the link above, click on each city, and read about it.
