I connect my mp4 player to my computer and hit sync to download songs, it comes up no device can be foun. Help

My computer is not recognizing my mp4 player. Does anyone have advice for me. The mp4 player is new. I plug it up go to media player and hit sync to download my songs and it shows no device can be found. I have tried it on all of my computers, and the same thing comes up.

i had a similar problem with my ipod.  the conclusion i came to was that it was the connection coming from the device, because i used several different usb cables to try and get it to sync.  depending on the type of windows you are using (98 or xp) this could be where the problem is coming from.. you may need to upgrade on software

You might not need to sync it at all just plug it in, open it  (the player through the PC) and drag and drop...
