I connected an aftermarket amp but the speakers don't work, what do I need to do ?

it is not in safe mode, it looks good only it doesn't work, the speaker wires are not messed up and connected right so ??

its just not powering the subs

  1. Try a test speaker on the amp leads .


  2. Did you make sure to turn the gain up? you might have the volume too low for any juice to be reaching the speakers. I did that once and I was going crazy trying to figure out why my speakers weren't making any sound. Also check the connection from the radio to the amp maybe you have a loose RCA cable. Also sometimes aftermarket radios have a AMP OUT setting that needs to be turned on.

  3. Make sure you are not connecting it to the internal amps speaker outs.  An after market amp should be connected to a line outs.  On a standard home sterio they are probably RCAs
