i connected this same amplifier in another vehicle and it works, In the vehicle where the amplifier does not work i get a reading of 12 volts before i connect to the amplifier and once i connect it there is a reading of approximately 1volt. when i tested in the vehicle where the amplifier turned on it had a constant reading of 12volts even when connected to the amplifier. Is there any reason why it reduces from 12v to 1v

  1. does your 12v supply have the current capacity for your amp?

That is one reason why you lose regulation.

  2. When you have a voltage that drops with a load applied, that means there's a resistance somewhere in the power or ground line.  Make sure your ground wire is tightly secured to chassis metal.  Make sure you have a tight, clean connection at the battery.  Look at the connections at your fuse holder near the battery, checking for corrosion or charring.  Replace your fuse, even if it looks good; especially if you have an AGU (glass tube) type fuse.

If I had to guess, I'd say the problem lies in the fuse or fuse holder, but it could really be anywhere in the power line.

  3. check the fuse on the amp. the back track wiring, make shure the ground is grounded(to a ground s***w in the engine compartment.) this is to insure there is a good ground. then check the blue remote wire. not blue/white.
