The former central defender at Fiorentina remarked on his recovery from injury and also reflected on possible draws they could have in the UEFA Champions League.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giorgio-Chiellini-c14963 has been blighted with a string of injuries to his name and that has made it increasingly difficult for the player to make a comeback to his best form. Since last season, he has been in and out of the team on a number of occasions, and
this was compounded with the injury he had on international duty during the European Championships.
The form of the immensely talented player has been questioned on a number of occasions and he has had to prove himself time and time again whenever he has been injured. Chiellini was making another comeback, this time due to a knock in the calves; and during
the match it seemed like he had rekindled that injury. Chiellini conceded that he felt his calf muscles tighten during the first half, and stated that he had requested Martin Caceres to warm up just in case he had to come off.
He went on to state that he did not want to take anyone by surprise and unprepared if there was any unfortunate news. However, his fears were allayed soon afterwards as he had gone on to go to proceed to the next half without any extenuating issues.
Juventus were the victors in the match against the Ukrainian champions, and the defeat was made even sweeter by the fact that the Turin giants were travelling away on the night. While commenting on the group stages and his calf problems, he had a few words
to say and he went on to remark by stating:
“My calf got hard towards the end of half-time and I asked for Martin Caceres to warm up so I wouldn’t leave my teammates unprepared. It started to relax a bit and so I was able to continue. It would be a great shame and paradoxical for us to finish top
of the group and draw Real Madrid, but either way we have proved Juventus are tough and can challenge anybody.”
Juventus have avoided the major clubs but there will be tricky ties up ahead.
