  1. if ya take the time to read the install on this from the manufacture u need to install it across the rafters/studs.......plus, rock has some sheathing strengthening properties to it, per the ATPC, so, run it so it breaks perpendicular to the rafters and suds.....

  2. as Above but also a loft conversion is also a buildings regulations nightmare and fire regulations trap.

you need to ensure that all the materials used are fire-rated and that adequate fire doors and escape windows are fitted.

Loft conversion companies do this for you but if your're doing it yourself ask for help as its easier than having to rip it all out and doing it again AFTER a failed inspection.

  3. You'll probably get at least two opinions here, IE: Hanging horizontally, or vertically. We can only assume these TRUSSES, are an open variety, allowing space to use.

Certainly you need to know and mark somehow, where the points of attachement are, before you get too deep into an install, using a pencil mary on a floor, etc.

In either method of install, it's assumed you'll hit every STUD/Rafter/Truss with drywall screws, then will tape, mud, sand, mud, sand, mud, sand, finish.
