  1. Double on laundry detergent and add a cup of Ammonia or Original Scent Pine Sol.

  2. Just add a cup of oxiclean to each wash .That's what I do and my clothes smell clean after every wash.

  3. The best product by far is trisodium phosphate.  Unfortunately it is illegal in many areas of the U.S.  It has substitutes that are not nearly as good, do not bother looking for them.

The next best is ammonia.  It is a fantastic grease cutter and  will also carry the grease out of the washing machine, which most store-bought detergents do not. The store boughts will leave the grease in the machine and spread it around on the next load.  So, give your greasy clothes a wash in ammonia first (follow the dilution instructions).  The ammonia smell will come off quickly if you hang them up.  The smell lingers a bit longer if you machine dry them.

  4. My kids used to work in fast food after school and I had good luck with a second rinse using white vinegar.  Wash as normal, rinse and rinse again with a cup of white vinegar.

  5. Wash them as normal, then add some color-safe (non-chlorinated) bleach.  Or you can use something like Mrs. Meyer Clean Day Oxygen Bleach Stain Remover for the laundry (but don't mix it with chlorinated bleach or ammonia).  It smells very fresh with sage and chamomile. The one I use is a pet formula, but I put some in every load, I love the way it smells. You may also just want to soak your grease-smelling clothes in something similar to that product before washing them.  Good Luck!!!

  6. I would put one cup of ammonia in my washer along with my detergent in the wash cycle, then in the rinse cycle I would use one cup of vinegar, and then do an extra rinse with fabric softener and also put in a dryer sheet in when you dry your clothes. If that doesn't work you can add a cup of degreaser in with your laundry (Purple Power) you can buy it in the automotive section at like Wal Mart or K Mart. You could always hang them on the line to dry also. I hope this helps.

(I would also wash in the hottest water that is recommended for the material).
