The Fulham boss has bemoaned the transfer saga surrounding the attacker and claimed that the player himself is not willing to play for the club anymore.
Clint Dempsey’s predicament at Craven Cottage has taken a turn for the worse, with his manager revealing that there is no official bid for him on the table.
The American International has long been linked with a switch to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, with Reds’ coach Brendan Rodgers also adding fuel to the fire in recent weeks.
Being the top scorer for the Cottagers last time out, the striker c*m midfielder gathered a lot of plaudits for his attacking prowess and looked set to seal a move to one of the UEFA Champions League sides.
However, uptil now a switch has failed to materialize, although Anfield was mooted as a potential destination only a few weeks ago. But with the arrival of Turkish star http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nuri-Sahin-c28251, competition on Merseyside has grown immensely.
The entire situation has left Fulham reeling, as the player does not wish to play anymore but doesn’t have any suitors lining up for his signature either. Head coach Martin Jol has been greatly perturbed by this, as he was unable to name him in the starting
line-up for the two opening games.
And now the Dutch tactician has voiced his concern and reiterated that Dempsey could have been in the team, if he himself was a willing candidate.
“Everyone thinks he was left out of the squad but he has not been there for four or five weeks. If there is no bid – like Steven Fletcher and Matt Jarvis at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 – he could have played until he got his big move. I would have liked that.”
“But there is no official bid. It is a very bad situation for us, and for him of course,” Jol was quoted as saying.
While Dempsey was the side’s main fulcrum in attack last season, the Whites have been coping well in his absence, putting five past Norwich City and then later giving Manchester United a run for their money at Old Trafford.
In the given scenario, the player is clearly at fault and it remains to be seen what becomes of his future in the days to come.
