Discarded Pakistani middle-order batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hasan-c61990 Raza, is disappointed that he could not cement his place in the national team and feels that he has been hard done by because of lack of opportunities.
Raza is the youngest player in the history of the game to have played Test cricket. He burst into the International arena in 1996, and since then he has played for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in patches. Many former cricketers tipped the right-handed batsman as a future asset,
but he failed to fulfill his potential at the highest stage.
However, the right-handed batsman has been doing very well in the domestic cricket of Pakistan since the last decade and a half. He represents Karachi and Habib Bank of Pakistan in the domestic circuit.
While speaking to Pakpassion, the right-hander claimed that he is still very happy that he got the chance to represent the country at the world stage but expressed that his talent could have been better utilized.
He added that there was a lot of competition in the middle-order of Pakistan in the 1990s and this is one of the reasons why he was’t able to get consistent chances.
Hasan said, “I haven't been saddened, I have been very happy. The regrets I have are over consistency – the reason I was dropped, back then there were a lot of players in the middle order and I was a youngster who had toured with the Under 19s.”
Raza came through the ranks of junior cricket in the country and captained at the under-19 level. Some of the leading players of Pakistan team played under his leadership in their early days and Hasan believes that captaining at different levels has matured
him as a cricketer. The right-handed batsman also captains Habib Bank Limited in the national cricket of Pakistan.
