the Italian international has developed a great deal of affection with the club, he further went on to state that he is looking forward to his new experience and the new role he has been handed over by the club authorities.
During his interview with a newspaper from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, El Pais, the former Juventus centre forward has gone on to state that despite missing the atmosphere that the club presented him with during his playing days, he was excited by the prospect of starting off
his career in the capacity of a coach.
Furthermore, the manager went on to comment on the prospects that were in front of him when he was deciding on his future. He remarked that there was interest in his services from Spanish outfits, but opted to stay at Milan, he mentioned:
“I had some offers, including one from Granada, whose President came to meet me. But this opportunity at Milan was too big. Milan is Milan. I left scoring a goal at San Siro, and that was emotional for me.”
He further remarked that the opportunity to elongate his association with the Rossoneri outfit was too big to turn down. He also remarked that it was his decision to remain at the club, and despite offers from rival Serie A clubs, he did not want to go to
any other club. He was quoted to have said:
“I had the opportunity to continue at the club with the youngsters, so it just seemed right to quit. I could not stay in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 and wear another team's shirt. And if I'd have gone abroad, I would have had to leave my family. As it is, I have stayed in Milan,
and can go out without having to watch what I eat!”
The 39-year-old is currently coaching the Allievi Nazionale outfit.
