Former South African fast bowler and the current bowling coach, Allan Donald, is all praise for the head-coach, Gary Kirsten and revealed that he could not refuse his former teammate, when he offered him a role with the national team.

Donald, who was one of the most threatening fast bowlers during his playing days, expressed that he would not have accepted the offer made by Cricket South Africa (CSA), if Kirsten was not the head coach.
“It didn’t take me more than a few seconds to say ‘yes’ when Gary (Kirsten, the coach) called and asked if I’d work with him. Maybe, I wouldn’t have come on board had somebody else been in his place,” Donald said.

He feels that Kolkata has changed a lot in last two decades.
He added, “I woke up feeling nostalgic and my mind went back to November of 1991. Went back many years. Calcutta has changed, from what I saw on the airport-hotel drive last night. It appears to have changed for the better. I’m looking forward to returning
to the Eden, in the evening.”
