Only the glass spidered and cracked, can just the glass be replaced or will the entire housing unit for the side mounted mirror have to be replaced? And about how much would that be?

  1. It's best to replace the entire assembly, but this can be expensive,  depending on what kind of car you have. If you want a cheap fix, most retail auto parts stores sell replacement glass panels that stick on with glue or tape (usually included with the glass). The store may have 3 or 4 different sizes, so take a piece of paper and trace the outline of your old glass so you have the exact size. Also, be sure to *carefully* remove all of the broken glass or the new one may not stick.

  2. check out this website.  you can order a replacement mirror with installation instructions.  I did one back in March on a Monte Carlo and it was pretty easy, basically remove the old one and glue on the new one.  It was about $30.00

  3. I would just call a junkyard and buy one for a pretty minimal price myself and have it painted.
