  1. Nah mate. You're not the only one.

Many many people would've cried, including me.

That was a tremendous match, and both players played brilliantly. I am also a Federer fan, but if Nadal lost, I'd feel sorry for him too, because they both deserved to win.

Let's hope Roger wins back his title next year! :)

  2. i didnt cry bt i was very sad......i missed the match on tv n got the news on internet.....im waiting for the next wimbledon n the trophy of  federer.....

  3. You're not the only one. That was a close match, and Federer played some phenomenal tennis. I mean, coming down from 2 sets and saving a match point in the 4th set tiebreaker. He was just insane.  Don't worry I think Roger just needs some time..the pressure of 6 in a row of defending the title were just so heavy for him. He'll be back.

Here's a quote from a German newspaper a day after the match.

"The Swiss is too motivated, too talented, too strong, too fit, too professionally organized and too proud to give up working toward winning the biggest titles,"

  4. This was one match where it didnt matter who won....both are deserving of the title...it was Rafa's day....it's a joy to watch them both and it's hard to pick sides when those two phenoms are on the court together.

  5. I cried too! I've also been a fan of his since I was a little girl and I was devastated when he lost- it was a brilliant match and no doubt Nadal was a worthy winner- I was just so gutted for him as I thought he was going to pull it back completely after doing so well getting two sets after being two sets down! I went to bed very upset that night!

Ahhhh life is tough- but he'll be back next year to reclaim HIS title!

All I need now is a RF cardigan to make myself feel better!

  6. Yeah, Tears of joy that he finally lost!!!

  7. McEnroe was about to cry and that was the part when i broke down. But I m proud of Fed and 100% sure he will win the title back next yr!!! Only a champion can recover fron 2-0 and push nadal to his physical and mental limits to win that trophy!!

  8. it did not cried , but i was really sad

  9. I was heartbroken but Nadal did beat Federer on the French Open before and it was bound to happen in Wimbledon. I don't know about you but Federer seemed nervous and not confident whatsover, while Nadal looked more driven and had more passion for the game no matter what. That alone told me it was bad news for Federer and he did have plenty of chances but he let it go. Hopefully he gets up from this one and learns his mistakes to come back and beat Nadal, then again we have a lot of good matches between the two to come!

  10. You're not the only one.. I physically felt like i was going to throw up. I am, however, so so proud to be a Federer fan.. only a champion can come back from 0 - 2.

I am so upset over his loss (I really really wanted him to beat Borg's record), but at the same time I'm happy it was such a great match and Federer did so well after the first two sets.

I think bad luck got in the way of Federer winning that match near the end, the rain delay effected him I think as well as the light.

I'm happy for Nadal... it sux there had to be a loser. But seeing Federer's face in black and white on the Wimbledon site made me want to cry.

I'm sure we can look forward to next year though.. then Federer can win his 6th title!! =]

  11. I felt for Roger ... It was a great match and he fought a tough opponent .... I was pulling for him ... but its tennis ... you lay your heart out there and let it be what its going to be ... you gotta love both of the will power and heart

  12. It shouldn't be that devastating, look at all that Federer has accomplished, at only 26. Its not the end of the world for him just because he lost to a talented and worthy opponent who just won his first Wimbledon compared to Fed's five. I don't think its the end for him just yet, but eventually theres gonna come a time.

  13. I CRIED, SCREAMED, I WAS SO SAD! Your not the only one!

  14. Hi there, even some of the die hard Nadal fans would have sympathized with Federer last evening. If things had been different, I am sure several Federer fans would have sympathized with Nadal too.

I am a Nadal fan, but everyone knows what a great champion Federer is. Winning and losing is a part of the game. He will recuperate soon. He's still No 1 and no changes there!

What's life without tight Nadal Federer matches :)

We're going to have fun for at least a few more years.

  15. I cried so much after federer's loss. you are not the only one. I am so depressed until now as well. It's not the end of federer It's the beginning!!

  16. so did i he was my fave male player and to see him lose was shocking because he's such a good player and is always in the zone but he still is my fave.

  17. hey tennis genius i too was devastated by the loss .in my eyes Federer's the champion and always will be-we haven't even come close to seeing the last of him on top!

  18. I was in tears but for different reasons. I was ecstatic for Nadal ( sorry). I really wanted him to get it this year and he played like it. I actually admire someone 20 years younger then myself. Strange yet true. However my heart ached for Federer, cause I do like him as a player, and person and this was the sort of match where you hate to have a loser.

  19. I was at the match and I really couldn't have been more happier for Federer. I admit that I wanted him to win it because I'm irritated by how people keep writing Fed off despite that he's still playing so wonderfully this year. But I was glad that Rafa achieved his childhood dream of winning Wimbledon and I definitely clapped and cheered loudly for him, he fought hard for it and deserved it. I will say that during Fed's speech I could hear the disappointment in his voice and I did feel sorry for him. But if anything, Fed showing that much grit and a will to push Rafa to the absolute limits and not giving up that trophy without an absolute fight, it really made me love and respect Rogie more, even if he did lose the match. I did shed a tear or two, but because I was happy Rogie showed that he's still King and unlike what everyone else says he isn't done, not for one second is he done. GO FED!

  20. Tears of joy! I'm a fan of both players but if anyone was going to beat Federer at Wimbledon its Nadal :-)

  21. I didn't cry. The look on Federer's face after his defeat was priceless. It was time for a new champion.
