I've noticed that I'll leave my laptop on for a while, and then when I come back theres like 4 pop-ups on my desktop. I've been using ad-aware for about a year, is there another program that I can use to get rid of those pop-ups or the virus? Any suggestions?

  1. Avast is free and is far superior (in my opinion). It updates itself continuously so it can defeat every new virus.

  2. yea, buy a mac...

  3. I have Ad Aware on my computer also & I run a full scan on it twice daily. If your computer seems slow, it may be because it needs to be defragged. If you haven't done that in a while, it's time & you must shut your computer down afterwards, then reboot it. If you have too much anti virus installed on your computer, it will slow your computer down & give you the impression that it has a virus. If you have to, take your computer to a reputable person to have it checked out. Check with your Better Business Bureau when you decide who you'll take it to BEFORE you do it. If that person isn't reputable, people will  have filed a complaint with your local BBB.
