I currently have dish network but my contract is up.?

I have been happy with dish and love the dvr.But now I have a HD tv and they can not give me my local channels in HD.Can any one tell me there experience with direct tv and its HD programing.And also important to me.How is there dvr and how many hours can you record on the HD dvr

  1. The transition to delivering the local digital stations is currently in progress and has to be done on a city by city basis.  DishNet and DirecTV are working together on this and generally transition a market at the same time.  For example, my city is being transitioned the week of 10/27 (I just sent back the Broadcaster Info Questionnaire)..  

    So, if DishNet doesn't have the digital versions of your locals (and the HD that goes with it), the chances are DirecTV won't, either.  You had better call DishNet and DirecTV to check the transition date of your city before jumping ship, if Locals in HD is the only issue.
