we cant afford to purchase a home in this area, so we are concerning moving to Plainfield, Hanover park or maybe Tinley park.

I have 3 boys (10, 6, 4) and I'm very scared that I might choose the wrong area my oldest son is going into the 5th

grade and in a few years high school,

I want to make sure I make the right decision and i'm having a hard time.

my husband has a really good job, we have money saved towards the down payment and good credit.

So now my husband is pushing me to hurry up and decide.

  1. Hello Debbie. Finding the right location to raise a family is tough. The Orland Park area of Chicago right near Tinley Park is awesome! Great school district for the kids. Carl Sandburg High School nearby is also great! I also believe they are top ranked in the state. Good Luck deciding. Here is the Orland Park link if you and your husband want anymore information. :)

  2. as a painter i do alot of work in north'west chicago area its really nice i would have to say plainfield is a very good area i have alot of customers there and you get more for your money great schools too and area is growing too

  3. I think you need to be alittle more specific.  You live in NW Chicago now, and you cant afford your current home, or you cant afford to move into another home in the same NW side area?

you dont have to sweat too hard, you have 4 years before HS.  I would look very carefully at this.

If my choices were Tinley, Hanover, and Plainfield, I would go with Plainfield.  Growth has ground to a halt, since Plainfield is a huge new construction area, and new construction is in the toilet.  If i werre moving to Plainfield, I would instruct my realtor to find me a newer construction forclosure or short sale property....there are lots out that way.  I dont care how good the neighborhood is, the truth is the rich and the poor are both losing income, and if you were playing it to close to the edge, you have probably lost your home...the short of it is, theres good deals out there in the SW burbs

Schools are best in plainfield of the places you mentioned...make sure youre in Dist 204

our market is going to dive for 2 more years...then theres a stabilization period, then maybe we will start seeing some appreciation again.  id say you have time, do not rush into anything, good luck
