That's something you need to ask your SS counselor.

My friend was on SSI and after the divorce, she was able to keep the house and buy a car.  She didn't go off SSI until she graduated from college and got a job.  She continued to draw SSI for nine months after being hired.

Best talk to your counselor.  We don't know the laws surrounding SS benefits.
