so i was using scissors and by accident the scissors cut my skin, i looked and the place where i cut myself was white, it looked like it was another layer of skin or something.. I have a brown complexion so i know its not cause im "white". After that i saw blood coming out of my cut.. which is normal but im curious to know why it was white skin underneath the cut didnt look THAT deep.. im freakin out right now.. the only antibactiral thing that i have is polysporen, i applied it on my cut because the instructions said "it helps fight infection" I know have a bandaid over it.. my parents are not home yet and im definatly going to tell them, but im curious to know if this is something I should worry about... help please!!

  1. Not to worry it's just a layer of skin. You did the right thing with the antibiotic ointment. You'll be fine, but do tell your parents so they can take a look at it.

  2. it happend to me but my cut was pretty deep, but not like i need stiches deep, its just white bcause its skin and the blood hasnt rushed in yet, you FINE :)

  3. This has happened to me many times, do not worry. The skin does not reach its usual pigmentation (the one your are used to seeing) until it hits the surface so what you saw was young skin, developing skin, if you will. If you have hydrogen peroxide you can pour that on it. It does not hurt and it kills bacteria, disinfecting the wound. The bandaid was a great idea. Good thinking :)

Neosporin will help it heal more quickly with a lighter scar so you might consider that instead of the polyspporin, which I am assuming is nothing more than a generic neosporin.

Until your parents come home just relax and chill, you will be just fine. You did a great job taking care of it :)

  4. The white skin you saw was flesh you need to put medicine and bandage on it. You might want to use neosporin.
