ok so im not going into detail cause it's a long story how the cut happened but it was deep and bloody. the wound is mostly closed but pops open in small places from time to time n bleeds. it happened 3 days ago. the skin is not sealed and hurts badly when it opens. how long does it take for a finger wound to heal up enough that i don't need to use any badages and it will not hurt

  1. i'd presume it would take about a week and half for the skin to seal back and stop hurting. Changing the bandage every two- three days will help the healing.

  2. Fingers tend to take a while to heal when cut badly, i would say anything up to 2 weeks to heal properly, and make sure you keep it covered for most of the time, fingers tend to dry out quick so take longer to heal when uncovered, i've cut my fingers heaps of times at work.

And if the swelling doesn't go down or is looking red or has pus coming from it then head off to the doctors, it's a sign of an infection.

  3. if it was deep enough you might need stiches, but im not doctor so im not sure. i think if you use peroxide or rubbing alcohol it heals faster, but again im not 100% sure on that.
