  1. I think you should

  2. No, you should not have to compensate. Hardwood floors take extra precautions to maintain and anyone that has them should be aware of what will or will not damage them. If the floors were that soft the owner should have made everyone take off their shoes. Some people actually beat the newly laid floors with chains, high heels and ball peen hammers before apply the sealers to obtain a old, worn look.

  3. If you are a caring and honest person then you should make ammends.

  4. Sounds like you were a little irresponsible wearing something like that on a wooden floor to begin with, actually, they probably wouldn't do most any floor much good.  I'd say you should offer to pay for damages, yes definitely.

  5. No.  They should have researched their purchase more carefully. Maybe you were just the first, and it will happen again

  6. Yes - you should at least offer to help.

  7. I would hope that they have homeowners insurance and that should pay for the damage, but I am sure there is a deductible and you should pay that.

If no insurance, then I think half would be fair.

They should have been aware of the soft floor and made everyone take there shoes off.

I do that in my home and no one is offended, I have a lot of white carpet in my home.

  8. yes, since you messed up the floors, you should do the right thing & compensate them for it!!!!!!

  9. The floor will have to be sanded to get the dents out. It will not be cheap so going half on the cost is fair. But homeowners shoud have known the wood was soft enough to damage so easy. Half is fair.

  10. you can lessen the damage of the dents by applying water to the wood. The wetting action will raise up the damage somewhat and then just refinish the wood.

  11.   No  As Richard said... Stilettos worn by any 125# woman puts more pressure down per square inch than an elephant.. The homeowners should have been aware of this and either banned any stilettos or take it in stride..Not your problem it s a natural thing to happen  GL
