His name is Verlon but I think he looks like a Mr. Nichols. He is like 50 something and wears glasses, mild balding and plaid shirts. But when I address him "Excuse me or How are you today Mr. Nichols?"... HE just doesnt answer. Whats with this guy? If I were given a new name id feel fresh and crisp and id enjoy it.

  1. He doesn't answer? Maybe because THAT'S NOT HIS NAME!!! Just a thought. You might think it is cool, but clearly he doesn't. So show some respect, use his real name and get over it.

  2. when you rename your coworkers, you arent supposed to tell THEM!

  3. I would want to be called by my name , and if you couldn't address me as such i would do just like him..ignore

  4. Jordan - or lets call you #$^^#$^#

    "my little front lanes charabs"

you are a non-funny disrespectful bully, that's why he got mad

You do not deserve to be the manager

If you have any honour resign from your position

  5. Being the boss doesn't give you the right to be rude.  Giving people nicknames is rude when George W. Bush does it, and it's rude when you do it.

  6. You are very rude manager and not a people person at all. First rule of management is, try to keep your people happy.

Another thing is, calling people from different name is very rude in office.

  7. He doesn't answer because THATS NOT HIS NAME.

He's 'just' a cashier?   I think you are acting like a condescending t**t.

I hope that he reports you to your superiors.

Treat this guy and all the other 'front lanes charabs' with a bit of respect, or you may find yourself without a job soon.

  8. Actually what you have done fits under the definition of harassment and if your employee chose to he could bring legal action against you and your company. Even if he just complained by filing a grievance it could lead to your dismissal and being fired for harassment is something you do not want on a job reference. In my opinion I would show him respect by calling him by his correct name otherwise I would recommend finding a new job.

  9. This must really bother him if he does not answer you. He may just not have a sense of humour. Everyone is different what may be funny to you may not necessary be funny to him. He could think you are making fun of him. Good luck!

  10. How rude are you to go changing a name he has for 50 years. I wouldn't answer you either if you changed my name.  In fact if I was him I would go to your boss and let him know what your doing.  If your boss decided one day that he was going to call you d**k would you go along with it? Actually I wouldn't be surprised if you did.  I would definetly stop calling him anything other than his name. If he really wanted he could take it to HR as harassment and you could get in trouble.  I think you should grow up a bit.
