I decorate cakes a lot and all the recipes I use are dense, pound cake-like recipes. Anyone have a recipe

for a lighter batter that will hold up to layering? Preferably using AP flour and not cake flour. Thanks

I don't have a recipe, but I have a tip.  I learned by experience that pound cake will turn out moist if you hand mix it.  And when I used an electric mixer, it turned out dry.
