I saw the old, old version of Romeo and Juliet last week

you know the one with the guy that looks like Zac Efron?

with Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey (1968)

And I thought that one was good and everyone said that the newer version is waaaaaay better...

I watched the newer version this morning, the one with Leonardo DiCaprio? OMG, it was the lamest thing I have ever scene! Who agrees? It's so freaking lame!

I think they should re-make it! Make it set in the olden times just like the 1968 version but better! I would love to see that, the Leonardo DiCaprio version was such a dissappointment, I mean c'mon how lame was the gun fight scene?

Who agrees! RE-MAKE?!

  1. no... y would u re make a classic?

  2. Well the version you speak of with Olivia Hussy was directed by Franco Zeferelli was perfect...why would you want a remake?

That would be like trying to remake the Dark Knight...hahahaha,jk...but really, no need for a remake.

  3. Why? Both were beautiful! The newer is better to me and LOL, Leonard DOES look like Zac Efron. I liked both, no need for ANOTHER remake. Plus, I love Leonardo, he was so beautiful it!

  4. The 1996 version with Leonardo was horrible and what was up with Mercutio? I guess we'll just have to settle for 'Tristian & Isolde'.

  5. I loved Luhrmann's version of Romeo + Juliet, but I can understand how it would only appeal to people with certain tastes.  I love exaggerated movies, and will watch anything by Quentin Tarantino or Frank Miller just because of the way and pace it was filmed.

But just to let you know, the movie was supposed to be cheesy in parts.  I mean, come on...Paul Rudd as Paris with that spacey smile?  The showdown at the gas station should have been proof enough of that.

And I think we have way too many remakes coming out, and not enough original movies.
