  1. How long has it been?  I know with my old bank, if you deposited money directly into the ATM, it isn't taken out at that particular bank.  It would go to some main office out of city or maybe even state, so the process was longer, even though I was able to access my money and balance immediately.  Have your bank put a note in the computer, give it another week, and see if it shows up.  If you deposited a check, they'll have it on file...as for cash, you may want to speak to a manager until you get it straightened out.

  2. At my bank the ATM deposits have to be balanced and the reports are sent to the Corporate center for verification.  Their is not just one person handling the deposits or withdraws there is a team.

It is highly unlikly that an employee would take any monet as everything is recorded.  You would be surprised how many cameras there are in the banks, they record everything.

Give the bank a few days to investigate the claim.  They should get back to you by then.  I know that is what my bank does but I can't vouch for BAC.

  3. The latest ATMs (in Florida) have a scanner which records deposits.

It takes a picture of a cheque or actually counts the money.

If you deposited cash in an envelope, it may take a few days.

  4. The opposite would be easier to solve because banks have insurance for that -  but now it's strictly your word against whoever opened the envelope on the other side of the ATM. If you're lucky the bank will give you a break (especially if your record indicates that you deposit 300$ on a regular basis).

  5. Don't you get a receipt of some sort, surely their files would be out of calculate for your account. I would phone up or go in and explain and ask them to get their team on it to check.

  6. Perhaps a deceitful bank employee who was in charge of collecting the money from the deposits made to the ATM kept the overage.
