My 4 1/2 year old son does not listen to a singly word anyone saids to him, he just will not mind anyone, he won't even look at anyone while they are talking to him,he will turn his head and start to suck his thumb. He is a go go kid 24/7, he has to be watched very closely because he does dangerous things,he can't even seat more than one second, he climbs on everything and jumps off of everything. you can get on to him for something and he goes right back and does the same thing. he is very mean to other children, and his siblings. I can not control him and noone else can either . He started preschool this year and he lasted only 2 weeks because he was abusive to the other students, he hit 3 little boys in their nose and made them bleed and the teacher said that he had just got up out of his chair across the room and walked over to them and hit them. please he is only 4 and half years old and I have 3 other ones that are add and adhd and they are nothing like my son.

  1. Sounds to me like your son has adhd and possibly odd that was my son's diagnosis and he was acting similar to your son.  You may want to get a neuro psych. test done it takes several hours but its worth it to pin point the exact problem.  try to limit his sugar intake and carb intake. high protein diet is usually helpful.  a token reward system really helped with my two. try structuring his day and establish a set routine and be consistent no matter what even a small sign of weakness and your lost.

I wish you the best of luck may god bless and watch over you.

  2. Go to your school district and talk to them. See if there are any programs they have that will benefit him. Also ask about parenting classes for yourself. When you repermand him you not to do what you say do not give in at all. You have to be constant. If he has learned you say I can't do anything with him then he will continue to do what he wants too.

Try setting some goals for him. Put it on a chart. If they other kids are doing something fun then don't let him because of his bad behavior. Explain why he can't do it. It will be a few weeks of pure h**l but then it will get better.

I feel medicine is a bandaid for the problem. Eventually they have to learn on how to calm themselves down. I meet a ADHD that was on medicnine from5-20. He is now 25 and said when he went off of it he could not function and had to quite college because he could not follow along. He has now enrolled back in college and is doing well.

Has this child had a babysitter being mean to him or anyone? I recently watched a 6 year old and he had had so many bad babysitters. He was a handful and ended up with a social worker. Turns out that from the babysitters and the divorce he didn't know what to do with his anger. I would have never guessed it. It was truly Nanny 911 in my house. He destroyed many things in my home. tore the carpet off the stairs. Anywhere that was time out he destroyed. When he was good he was so nice and pleasant. but when he was bad he was really bad. He was a ticking time bomb. Now he has been with a school social worker and he is a different child. I don't watch him anymore because he needed a better place to fit his needs but I do spend time with him. He really is a joy to be around now. The bomb has be deactivated.

  3. Not to scare you but my niece had similar behavior and was recently diagnosed with insulin dependent diabetes.  It may be an avenue worth exploring.  Hope this helps and good luck :)

  4. sorry but it sounds like ur son should go and break of a switch and get his a** whipped

  5. Sorry but i do think he has a typical case of ADHD and maybe ODD too.  Not sure why they say they have to wait until he is 5 for meds, my boyfriends son is exactly like your son and he has been on meds since he was 3 years old because he just can't function in a public situation without the Adderal.

  6. it may be because he is above average. "smart" children sometimes can have the biggest behavior problems because they are bored. be careful about labeling him with adhd or any other disorder; there are certainly children who are, but way too many children are being diagnosed with problems they don't have. has he been in a classroom setting before? maybe he is just learning to adapt to the different type of structure. encourage good behavior. talk to his teacher about creating some sort of behavior chart for him. reward any good marks/comments with praise or small prizes (getting to play with a favorite toy, an extra story before bedtime, etc.). but don't ignore the misbehavior either, if he has a overall bad day, have him sit in time out. reinforcing the way he should behave in school at home will make the world of difference! keep open communication with his teachers at school and make sure he knows it. if his teacher tells you infront of him something he did wrong, correct him infront of the teacher and have him apologize

  7. I'm not sure sweety but I would talk to your childs doctor, because there are levels of altisum that can have the same effects. My 5 year old is on the chart but is different he is too sensitive. I hope that help sorry and good luck.

  8. This is my son too, and I hope somebody will be able to give some good advice, I thank ya'll for the help. And I love you baby.
