  1. It is probably an 0800 number which has come from abroad so the first 0 is left off. It is probably a cold junk call to sell you something.

  2. dave.

  3. call bt and have them barred you can request to have no marketing calls it does take a few weeks to fully kick in but it works

  4. travel sickness and travel crimes???

you need your travel injections then! and so do they sounds like.ok

  5. its basically a call centre bombarding your home line

sometimes they even give you cold calls, when the companies computer calls you and there is no one on the other end. they do this to see if someone owns that number. but what you dont realise is, if you do pick up then they will know that number is in use and will forever call you until you get your number changed.

    thats what happened to me

they use to call 10+ per day, everyday.. any time of the day and night, had to change my number

  6. Do a redial and find out who answers. Then request they remove your number from there data base.

You can also register with the Telephone Preference Service and then should receive no more marketing calls.

  7. sounds very suspicious - call the operator to get these calls stopped

  8. You are the victim of some despicable 'cold-calling' firm whose staff should all be hung from the neck until they've popped their clogs! They're not part of the Telephone Preference Service that's for sure.

You should contact BT and report this as a nuisance caller and get them to put a stop to it.BT does take nuisance callers very seriously. If you do manage to speak to them without calling them back, get their proper number, company name and address, then go to the Police and report it there.

Either way, between BT and the Police it'll stop for sure.If not,do what I do,blow a whistle down the mouthpiece everytime they ring - that'll stop these buttwipes! Trust me - I've done it!
