  1. A possibility that someone is messing with you. Maybe a friend.? If they have a 'Spoofcard', they can make youe caller ID say anything they want.! http://www.spoofcard.com

  2. lines get crossed sometimes bud

  3. Hi Mike,

I used to work for the RAF in what they call CCIS, command control & information systems.

    That included phone systems.

That happened a lot, in that I received beeps telling me it was a message from myself.

It is a delay loop in the software hanging around in the hardware, and is a faulty, slow system sometimes.

Thing to do is try 151 on a phone, and say "Can you send an engineer around to plug his laptop in, and measure the dB loss to the local exchange.

If it is 60-70 dB down, then that woulg explain it.

I type this at 23dB down, as I am only about 400m from the routers in the exchange, via copper.

Delays in the systems, mon ami, and there is not a lot you can do without buying very whizzy equipment, bunging a fibre-optic cable in, satellite sytem, etc.

    Best of luck.

01473, to return the last call was me phoning my mother.

    I am also confused.

    Bob
