  1. Dogs have no respect of how much you are spending on their food!  Much as normally the more expensive food is better.  Don't know where you are but if in the UK try tinned Chappie.  It gets most dogs interested in their food because of the fishy smell (we used it regularly in the kennels I worked in if we got one that refused to eat - and remember that unlike cats, dogs will usually eventually eat, when they are hungry enough!)

Do check his teeth to make sure he's not in trouble there (vet?).

Has this been going on for long?  If it has, and if he still refuses to eat, I suggest you do need to get him checked out by a professional.

  2. Try giving her  some dry dog food, doesn't  have to be the expensive kind. Hard food is better for their teeth. You could try the dry food with a little can food.  Some dogs are just picky about food. Try not to give her people food as she will like it and not her food. And people food is not good for people , much less dogs. Most dog foods have what the dogs need. My mom spoiled her chihuahua to eating only boiled chicken and that is all he would eat until he died at 12 yrs old.Just get a better brand of food not the most expensive, the dogs don't care about the price just the taste. I personally use Purina Pro Plan and have never had one refuse to eat it. And never give any dog milk of any kind they don't need it , but will love it if you offer it to them.

  3. My sister has a Yorkie that wouldn't eat either.  Her name is Mrs. Calabash.  (The Yorkie, not my sister...) At least for a while and it was pretty scary.

She worked out a plan that actually did the trick and only took about two weeks.

She was also getting tired of throwing away so much expensive food. She got some good high quality dog food and spooned out very small portions and wrapped them in saran wrap, which she froze.  Then she would get two out at a time, giving Mrs. Calabash one when it thawed.  If she didn't eat it, no big problem.  It was only two ounces or so.  So it wasn't hard to unwrap a new chunk every few hours so the food was always fresh.

It's pretty obvious that a dog who is not really sick will not starve herself to death.  I think she was just spoiled from table scraps, but soon enough she was eating again.  Just tiny portions.

  4. See my answer on her only having 6 teeth.

Since your dog is not eating then I would have to assume that your dogs mouth hurts so bad that it will not eat. You NEED to take your dog to the vet to check for problems with it's teeth.

  5. Maybe the dog doesn't like soft dog food.  Would you like oatmeal everyday?

If you think anything of your dog; give him something that he likes.  Who can live on mush all the time.  Treat your dog like you would treat yourself.  Or, maybe your children.

  6. take them to a doctor to check out the issues

  7. Please take her to the vet!

  8. Try to give her raw meat. Don't leave food on to her bowl if she doesn't want to eat it. Or feed her once a day.
