  1. the Marines will take a limited number of recruits with GED, but only a small number. The reasoning is that they do not want quiters and people with GEDs tend to be quiters. Not all of them, just the majority.

You will need a waiver.  They want to be sure you either had a valid reason to quit high-school or you've learned enough life-lessons since then that you see the error of your way.

  2. Dont listen to these people. I actually tried to join the Marines but I did the same thing you did. They said unless you finished 10th grade in High School, then you cannot unless you have 15-17 in-classroom(No Distance or Online) college credits. A Recruiter did not tell me that, his boss did.

So if you want to join, go get a degree, career diploma, career certificate, or just take general studies or something and get those credits, then you will be able to go for it!

  3. yep

  4. No. You haven't completed 10th grade. Take a semester at a community college. Once you have 15 credits, then you can enlist. You will be able to take classes that will prepare you for the ASVAB! Talk to a recruiter but I do believe this is the only way!

  5. That does not matter.  As long as you have that GED, then that is all you need.  In fact, that is the entire purpose of the GED; to allow those who missed a grade or two or who failed out of high school to get a chance for an education.

  6. Military law states acceptance of a GED only after completion of the 10th grade level in all branches except the Air Force which requires a diploma to join.

  7. You can join any branch of service with a GED.  You will have to get a waiver though, I'm pretty sure.  This shouldn't be too difficult.  Simply an extra piece of paperwork that needs to be signed by a person of higher authority/rank.  The only think that might be an issue is if you have a criminal record that involves a felony.

  8. W/ a GED yes you can join

  9. Sure can!

  10. absolutely

  11. You can join any branch of the military as long as you have a high school diploma or GED. You do have to be at least 17 years old though (you did not mention how long ago you ended your 9th grade year :D)
