I did soo HORRIBLE on my SATs....HELP!?

Question

I got a 530 on my math, a 560 on my critical reading and a 610 on my writing (of course, the one they dont look at). I really wanted to go to SLU (St. Lawrence University), but I'm on the lower end of their grades. SUNY Potsdam, well, I'm on the middle. I really dont want to just go to a SUNY school. There are so many more opportunities with private universities. If I bring up my SAT scores A LOT, will it help with some scholarships and stuff?? PLEASE HELP ME! I studied for a whole stupid month and wasted my time. I dont know what to do now. Also, how horrible is it? I know it's bad, but is it on the high end of bad? Thanks for the help. =[

lol same here, got a 610 (highest score) on my writing and of course colleges dont care about that score lol.

i dont reallly want to stay in new york and go to stony brook and/or binghamton and i wanna go to california.

dont worry, u have the whole summer to study and get ur score up .  but at least you did better than teh national average =).  average is like 1500 and 500 for each section

St. Lawrence, nice school. I'm kinda in the same boat as you. I didn't do too badly on my SATs, but I thought I could do better. I got an 1880, when I wanted about a 2000. I've been doing some research about the ACTs, another test like the SATs that you could take. Colleges know how to convert the two scores of each test to compare them. I've also heard that students that don't do so well on the SATs do better on the ACTs and vice versa. I think I'm going to try the ACTs and you might want to look into it. If not, you can buy SAT practice books to study up on the material that you didn't do well on. Good luck.
