  1. Take the ACT or retake the SAT...these are really the only options...

  2. Beef up the other areas of your application.  Get solid letters of recommendation from teachers, advisors, etc. who knew you well.  Write a great essay (the application probably has a writing prompt).  Have someone with good writing skills proofread it and make sure it's well structured.  Hopefully you participated in extracurriculars.  Note anything you've done/volunteered for in your high school years.

If you don't get in.  Go to community college.  Secure the components i've mentioned (letters, activities, essays, etc.).  Talk to your professors and make sure they know you so you can get good, quality letters of rec.  Get good grades.  Take an SAT prep course (Kaplan, Princeton Review).  If you apply yourself in the prep course it can significantly improve your score.  Also, talk to advisors at Florida A&M and the community college (if you have to go to one).  You may be able to transfer after one semester, but some colleges only accept applicants for new school years.  Advisors may also have tips on what aspects of an application A&M finds important.

Also, when I was applying to schools I was told that it helps to pick a major since many students go in as undecided/undeclared and spots are limited.  If you pick a major your chances of getting in may be higher.

    Good luck!

  3. It doesn't all depend on your SAT. If your well-rounded and have good grades the you can still get admitted.
